How can we help Jamaica?
We’ve looked into which Canadian organizations are coordinating with the Jamaican Canadian Association and the Jamaica High Commissioner’s Office to determine what the needs are to support both immediate relief and long-term recovery initiatives for affected communities.
These are organizations we know are ON THE GROUND in Jamaica.

They are organizing an open donation drive to support the Jamaican community and those affected by the devastating impacts of Hurricane Melissa. All donations will be sent to Jamaica through the Red Cross response channels.

TORONTO, Canada
Jamaican Canadian Association & the Consulate General of Jamaica in Toronto
The JCA and the Consulate General’s office are partnering to collect physical donations for items in need throughout the GTA and other locations. These items will be packaged and sent to Jamaica through the official government channels to ODPEM and distributed accordingly.

Global Empowerment Mission (GEM)
This organization is literally a GEM! Many of our friends and family have volunteered their time and efforts at the warehouse in Florida to package relief aid for Jamaica. They were there to support Jamaica after hurricane Beryl last year and they have stepped up once again, committing USD$10,000,000 in aid for Jamaica.

Monetary Donations - Canada
Food For The Poor Canada
Food For The Poor-Canada is launching fundraising efforts to ensure both short-term and long-term relief in Jamaica. Humanitarian aid from FTTP will be providing resources such as emergency relief packages, food, hygiene kits, and clean water.
We have personally spoken to FFTP Canada and they have assured us that all monetary donations will be directly wired to Jamaica to support the relief on the ground.

Under “Donate To” click on “Support For Jamaica”
In the comments, also put “Jamaica”
